To make the dish, the macaroni is first boiled until it is al dente, or cooked but still firm. Meanwhile, a tomato-based sauce is prepared by sautéing garlic and onions in olive oil and then adding canned tomatoes, salt, pepper, and other seasonings. Ground meat, such as beef or lamb, is then browned and added to the sauce.

The macaroni is then combined with the sauce and meat mixture and placed in a baking dish. Cheese, such as parmesan, is often sprinkled on top to add flavour and texture. The dish is then baked in the oven until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

You can also make the Makaroni in the oven with a layer of Bechamel Cream and then add the Cheese (optional).
